Come and learn about the military history of our region in Finland. The RUK Museum in Hamina will introduce you to the Reserve Officers’ School and it’s traditions starting from the 1920’s.

Virolahti Bunker Museum was established in 1980. The main exhibition ’Salpalinja begins from Virolahti’ introduces you to the Salpalinja Defence Line, which was built in 1940-41 and 1944, stretching incredible 1200 kilometers on the Finland’s eastern border and is one of the strongest and best preserved defence line from the Second World war still in existence in Europe. Lunch is either at the Bunker Museum or Salpalinja Museum.

The Salpalinja Museum will further introduce you to the defence line and provide an opportunity to explore the restored bunkers, dug-outs, trenches and stone anti-tank lines with a knowledgeable guide. You will also have a chance to visit the indoor exhibitions.
